SIL is a type of support that helps you live as independently as possible, whilst building skills and achieving your goals. Supported Independent Living is for people who require some level of help all the time, including overnight support.
Supported Independent Living can include many different supports, including but not limited to:
West Coast Care are proud to be able to offer people with the option of SIL. Most of the homes we offer are owned and operated by solely by West Coast Care, which gives you another level of security. We won’t have to move our clients between homes due to lease periods ending as we prioritise providing security, safety and confidence in their living situation.
Whether that be sharing with others or living alone with individualised supports, we will work with you and your stakeholders to find the right fit.
When considering SIL some elements are funded by the participant, the NDIS will not pay for your rent, board or lodgings, what they may fund is the SIL supports. This means we work with you and your support team to find a house that meets your needs (you pay for the rent, board and lodgings). The NDIS will fund us (West Coast Care) to find and maintain a team of support workers, mentors and carers to ensure your daily needs are met; this funding is determined by an assessment of your support needs.
We don’t discriminate! All our houses are suitable for mobility needs with accessible entrances, modified bathrooms and spacious living areas. Our team of carers, support workers and mentors all have extensive training to support our clients; this includes support for individuals with mobility needs, mental health, intellectual and cognitive disabilities, dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Complete our e-referral form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
At West Coast Care, we’re more than just a service provider – we’re a team dedicated to making a real difference.
