What do we do?

We are a NDIS registered care provider, capable of providing clinical care and support to our clients as required. Our team consists of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses & staff with a Cert III to ensure the highest standard of care is delivered to meet all aspects of our client’s needs. We are registered to assist with:

High Intensity Daily personal activities  

We can provide supports to clients that require a high level of support in many aspects of life, our nursing staff and support workers are all highly experienced in all areas so we can guarantee that your family or loved ones are in safe hands! We also have a qualified continence care nurse on staff to help with any care needs of our clients.

This includes the provision of care to individuals with complex bowel needs, the management of enteral feeding for clients and providing care to clients with severe dysphagia. We can also provide the care and management of urinary catheters, the administration of subcutaneous medications and complex wound management.

Assistance with daily personal activities 

We provide a range of in-home care services assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), these include showering, dressing, medication assistance /prompts, escorted shopping/outings/appointments, meal preparation and walking. We offer two options of overnight support dependent on the level of assistance required. We will be happy to discuss how to meet your individual needs with you.

sleeping night is when a carer provides overnight support where needed, they can assist with, or supervise personal tasks but the carer sleeps when not required. This support has a limited amount of time the carer can provide active support throughout the night. A suitable sleeping space is required for the staff member who will be sleeping overnight. An awake night is when a carer stays awake throughout the night to provide support and assistance as required to the client with personal care.

We can assist with home help and domestic duties, we will provide help and assistance with housework including general household cleaning tasks, vacuuming, tidying/dusting, loading/emptying washing machine and hanging it on the line, simple meal preparation, and un-escorted shopping trips to stock up on supplies for you.  The staff at West Coast Care are multi-talented and can also help with gardening and home maintenance. We can help with general maintenance and gardening, this includes mowing grass, weeding, general tidying of garden areas.

Assistance with travel/ transport arrangements 

For our clients who require accessible transport or those who need some support we can help! We can facilitate travel for all clients regardless of their support needs, this includes assistance to access adapted vehicles, plan your public transport route or take individuals in a standard car to get to the appointment or occasion. Depending on the level of support required, we will assist in getting adapted vehicles to get you to your appointment/occasion on time and arrange for an escort to be with you for the whole journey. 

Assistance with daily life tasks in a group or shared living arrangement  

Assistance with daily tasks is focused on empowering clients, developing and assisting clients to live their daily lives as they wish. SIL is a type of support to help you live in your home, it helps you to live as independently as possible, whilst also building your skills. Supported Independent Living is for people who require some level of help at home all the time, this means you need a significant amount of help throughout the day, 7 days a week and includes overnight support. If you require SIL as a reasonable and necessary support, funding is provided by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) based on the level of support you require to live independently.

Supported Independent Living can include many different supports.

  •  Assistance with personal tasks
  • Help to develop skills in meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, and developing a routine
  • Help to develop social skills
  • Support to give medications
  • Support for medical appointments
  • Community access that is not routine or regular, for example, to complete personal tasks
  • Support to get to and from community access activities, where this is your preference. For example, support to attend physiotherapy appointments or visit with friends and family outside of the home.

Participation in community/ social and civic activities  

West Coast Care is there for you, we want to assist you in maintaining your independence and participating in community, social and recreational activities. We can help with attending social groups, visiting the cinema, sports centre, or library, having coffee with friends or even to go on a holiday! We want to help our clients regain/ keep their independence.

We can provide support as often as you like or as a once-off, and we accept government funded clients or privately funded clients.
